Kevin McKernan and his wife Cindee are the owners and operators of SurfBear Outfitters.

Kevin is a graduate of Humboldt State University in Natural Resources.  He has worked for both the Hoopa

and Yurok Tribes as a Natural Resource professional for 10 years, specializing in water quality monitoring, regualtion,

and planning.  He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Northcoast Regional Land Trust.

He also has extensive swiftwater rescue experience and holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master License.

Cindee is a Yurok Tribal member and has worked for the Yurok Tribe for nearly 20 years, and a excellent

chef, caterer, and event planner.

Our dedication to the the health of the Klamath River and all of its people, coupled with our love for

being outdoors, sharing our knowledge and experience with others, and entertaining have been the things

that have inspired the creation of SurfBear Outfitters.

Our goal is to show you the river, feed you well, and send you off with something you might not have known

about the Klamath River or its people through a more personalized experience.
